Overview
Create a password-encrypted .smx package for supported players so assigned screen content can be imported and played without an internet connection.
Before you begin
Connect and pair the intended devices while online. Confirm each screen is active, has a playlist assigned, and the paired devices appear in the licensed-device list before generating a package.
Good to know
- Set a package password of at least 12 characters and keep it separately; the password is required for every import.
- Packages are licensed for the paired devices included at generation and expire within 30 days or when the subscription ends, whichever happens first.
- Live web pages, live streams and other external data still need internet. Offline Sync packages the supported playlist assets; it cannot make an external live source work offline.
- Android, Windows and macOS players support USB and local Wi-Fi transfer. Samsung USB import requires Tizen 10 or newer. Standard LG webOS apps do not support .smx import or hosting the local upload page.
- Treat the .smx file and its password as private. Generate a fresh package after changing playlist content or device assignments.
Publishing
After import, follow the player prompt if confirmation is enabled and verify the imported playlist starts on the intended screen. Reconnect the player to the internet when you need to sync newer cloud content or live sources.
Step by Step Guide
Step 1: Prepare screens and devices
Pair the target players while online. Assign the required playlist to an active screen and confirm its paired devices are listed among the licensed devices.
Step 2: Open Offline Sync
From the user dashboard, open Apps → Offline Sync App. Find the screen card whose name and screen key match the intended display.
Step 3: Generate an encrypted package
Enter a password of at least 12 characters in both fields and select Generate encrypted .smx. Keep the page open while the package is prepared; its progress and asset count appear on the card.
Step 4: Transfer the package
Select Download .smx and copy the downloaded file to the player, or use Transfer over Wi-Fi when the computer/phone and player are on the same local network. Follow the on-screen instructions for that player.
Step 5: Import on the player
Open Offline Sync or the player’s import controls, choose the .smx file, enter its package password, and wait for package verification and installation to finish.
Step 6: Confirm playback
If Confirm before playback is enabled, approve activation on the player. Check that the expected playlist appears and plays before disconnecting it from the internet.
